Did you know that it’s New York Fashion Week? Well it just started and they are showcasing what we’ll be seeing in the fall of 2014. I know, it’s a long way off and I’d really like to get into some warmer weather and all the great sandals, but it’s interesting to see what’s going to be on trend next fall. So far, it looks like boxier styles, deep jewel tone hues, leather and low hemlines. There was a bit of fur, wintery velvet, metallics, classic silhouettes and sparkle (aka bling). There were lots of classic shoes and some chunky footwear. Coach has come out with a ready to wear line that has promise and isn’t covered in “C’s”. It will be interesting to see what trickles down from the runways for the everyday folk and fun to see what the rest of the week will bring.
As a side note, SJP, Sara Jessica Parker’s shoe line is out! Check out the classic styles and great colors, they’re going to be great with the fall fashion!
What’s trending for Fall & Winter 2013?
I am so happy to say that my all time favorite is trending – the pointy toed stiletto!!!!
Also trending – velvet shoes for evening, bling and embellishments galore and lastly platforms look to be on the way out.
Bold colors and animal prints especially leopard are in. Boots and booties will showcase shearling in all the right places.
Lastly, over the knee boots will be here while fashion sneakers stick around going bold with lots of color and pattern. Check out the blog for more information on this.
Trending now is the ever bold combination of black and gold. Found in metallic leathers and spikes and studs that adorn fabulous shoes. Check out your favorite stores to see what appeals to you!
Sarah Jessica Parker is coming out with a shoe line of her own. The actress, who played shoe-crazy Carrie Bradshaw on ‘Sex and the City,’ is launching her own, real-life line of shoes, trenches and bags, in partnership with the CEO of Manolo Blahnik.
Can’t wait to see the styles, colors and options!
SJP shoes will be available exclusively at Nordstrom early next year.
“We’re putting new colors together that people don’t typically do, just beautiful combinations that you wish existed in your closet,” Parker told Vogue.com.
“And in terms of bags, thinking about the period of the seventies into the eighties, what those women were carrying, taking away the bells and the whistles and hardware and really making it about the bag.”
Simple pumps and flats will run between $200 and $300, and bags will be priced under $700.
“Men I may not know, but shoes, shoes I know!”
-Carrie Bradshaw from Sex in the City
